Marta Lempart is an activist in the field of women's rights and democracy. She initiated the All-Poland Women's Strike on 3 October 2016 (Black Monday) and to this day leads the All-Poland Women's Strike Support Committee - a coalition of women from all over Poland who organised and led the so-called "black protests" in more than 150 cities in Poland, which resulted in the withdrawal of the parliamentary majority from the procedure of the total abortion ban project. She is a lawyer by training. Her previous professional and activist experience include involvement in the activities of the Committee for the Defence of Democracy and several years of work for the benefit of the environment of people with disabilities.
