Gita Herrmann studied history and politics and worked for different cultural organizations such as Goethe-Institut (Chennai, India), Modzi Arts (Lusaka, Zambia) and ASEDEVA (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania). Currently she works for the Asia division at the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Berlin. She’s driven by questions around narratives and identities: How do the stories we tell from us as individuals and societies as a whole? How do narrations define our understanding of past, present and future? Answers to such questions she finds in postcolonial theory and personal conversation.
