Erik Marquardt

Erik Marquardt is a German politician and photographer who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament for Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen since 2019. He Is Vice-Chair of the Committee on Development as well as of the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries. As a photojournalist, Erik Marquardt made several trips along the escape routes to Europe and presented his pictures and experiences in lectures across Germany. He took part in the Sea-Eye relief operation and was able to help more than 1,000 people on the Mediterranean Sea.
